Brian was taking photographs during peaceful Gen Z protests in Ol Kalou when he was shot by security forces. He was unarmed and later pronounced dead on arrival at JM Kariuki Hospital. An autopsy conducted by Dr. Titus Ngulungu, witnessed by IPOA and DCI officials, revealed he was shot twice in the upper right back, causing fatal internal bleeding.

His mother, Elizabeth Wanjiru, and sister, Mary Wangari, described him as a humble and passionate teenager who dreamed of becoming a photographer and tattoo artist. His family publicly demanded justice, noting his upper jaw had been shattered by one of the bullets.
