Death Incident β 25 June 2024
Antony Kimeu was reportedly attacked and fatally injured by anti-riot police officers during the 2024 Kenyan protests. Witnesses claimed that Kimeu was working in his carpenter's workshop near a Barclays Bank branch in Rongai when police entered the area. He was not participating in the protest.
According to witness accounts and family statements, he was struck in the head and face multiple times. Kimeu was rendered unconscious, rushed to a hospital, and was pronounced dead on arrival. [1]

Following the incident, Kimeuβs cousin Richard Ukwale attempted to file a formal complaint with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA). However, he reported being turned away by officers. [2]
