Innocent Mummo (died 7 July 2025) was an 18-year-old Kenyan who was shot and killed by police during the Saba Saba Day protests in Ngong, Kajiado County.
Background
The 2025 Saba Saba Day protests were held nationwide across Kenya, targeting issues of corruption, poor governance, and police brutality. Demonstrations took place in major cities and counties including Nairobi, Kiambu, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Kajiado.
Death
On 7 July 2025, Innocent Mummo was shot in the head and neck during the protests in Ngong, Kajiado County. He was admitted to hospital but died shortly after due to the severity of his injuries.
Aftermath
