Wycliffe Kane Mwende (known as Wycliffe Kane) was a 32‑year‑old boda‑boda (motorbike taxi) operator from Kiambu County, Kenya. He died during the anti‑government protests in Nairobi tied to the Finance Bill demonstrations in late June 2024.

Incident & Circumstances

On **25 June 2024**, Wycliffe was riding a passenger toward Nairobi CBD when he was struck by an object—possibly a teargas canister or thrown stone—while protests raged along Waiyaki Way. Bystanders carried him into a police vehicle to seek help, but he succumbed to his injuries en route to hospital.
